What We Believe Regarding…

The Bible – The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, without error in their original writings.   God – There is one God who is the creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing and manifesting Himself to us in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Man & Sin – Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Only through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. All men are born lost in sin and deserving of death. Sin has darkened their understanding, alienated them from the life of God’s desire through the ignorance that is in them, hardened their hearts, and pronounced them morally and spiritually dead.

Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary. He died on a cross, a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Furthermore, He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He is now our High Priest and Advocate, seated at the right hand of God the Father.

Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is a person, and is possessed of all the distinctly divine attributes of God. The ministry of the Holy Spirit  is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to unite the Body of Christ, convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

Salvation – Though we are sinners and undeserving of eternal life with God, He has provided a way for us to redeem ourselves and have a relationship with Him. By the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross and by the simple and single condition of our faith in Him who shed the blood and by confessing Him as Savior before our fellow man, we become Children of God and receive eternal life. They become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. At physical death their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness, and at the second coming of Christ their bodies shall be raised and transformed into the likeness of the body of His glory. All those who persistently reject Jesus Christ in the present life shall be raised from the dead and, through eternity, exist in a state of conscious, unutterable, endless torment and anguish.

Church – The true church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and   are united together in the Body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the Head. It is this Body, also known as the Bride of Christ, which Christ loves and for which He has given Himself.   Last Things – The personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our “blessed hope” and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment.
